Operation Able is an innovative skateboarding initiative designed to empower children with disabilities through the exhilarating sport of skateboarding. This program operates quarterly, offering a unique opportunity for participants to learn, develop skills, and foster a sense of community. Hosted in collaboration with Ability Skateboarding, the Heart of Stoke Foundation, and the City of Fort Worth Parks and Recreation Department, Operation Able aims to create an inclusive environment that promotes physical activity, confidence, and social interaction among children of all abilities.
Each session of Operation Able is tailored to meet the diverse needs of participants, ensuring that everyone, regardless of their skill level or disability, can experience the joy of skateboarding. Trained instructors with expertise in adaptive sports will guide participants through foundational techniques, safety practices, and progressive skill-building exercises. The program emphasizes not only technical skills but also personal growth, resilience, and teamwork.
In addition to skateboarding lessons, Operation Able fosters a supportive community by encouraging family involvement and interaction among participants. Special events and showcases will highlight the achievements of the children, celebrating their progress and building lasting friendships.
Through Operation Able, we strive to break down barriers and demonstrate that skateboarding is a sport for everyone. By providing access to adaptive equipment and professional coaching, we aim to inspire confidence, promote inclusivity, and cultivate a lifelong love of skateboarding in children with disabilities.
